Jagdpanzer IV - Dust (Part 5)

Le temps que les huiles sèchent tranquillement sur mon Aufklärungspanzer, j'en ai profité pour m'amuser encore un peu avec mon aérographe. Je n'ai rien à lui reprocher ! Vraiment !

The time for the oils to dry quietly on my Aufklärungspanzer, I decided to have fun with my airbrush again. I have nothing bad to say about it! Really!

J'ai donc commencer par passer un voile général de Flat Earth très dilué, en accentuant les zones les plus sujettes à la poussière. Ensuite, j'ai réalisé quelques éclaboussures avec du Dust Effects de AK-Interactive. Une fois sec, j'ai repassé un léger voile de Flat Earth pour assouplir le contraste.

I started by airbrushing a very light coat of Flat Earth really diluted, emphasizing on the most exposed areas. Then, I made some spatters with Dust Effects from AK-Interactive. Once dry, I airbrushed another light coat of Flat Earth to soften the contrast.

J'en ai aussi profité pour travailler les chenilles. Peintes au Flat Earth, mises en valleurs avec du Track Wash et un léger brossage à sec de peinture aluminium. Rien de plus !

I also decided to work with the tracks. Painted Flat Earth, washed with Track Wash and an aluminium dry brush. Nothing more!

Le résultat me convient, mais certaines éclaboussures me semblent encore grosses... Tant pis !

The result is okay, but some spatters are still a bit big... Whatever!

Jagdpanzer IV - Chipping (Part 4)

Hi everyone! Let's continue after what was the continuation here, not very far from the beginning of the starting point!

J'ai donc travaillé les huiles hier soir et le pinwash, et cet après-midi, j'en ai profité pour faire un peu d'éraillures. J'ai essayé d'avoir la main un peu légère. Ca ne paraît pas, mais j'ai un peu paniqué en faisant les éraillures sur du beige. Ca ressort beaucoup !

So I worked with oils yesterday evening and applied some pinwashes, and this afternoon, I decided to chip the model. I've tried to be light-handed. It doesn't look like, but I kind of panicked when painting the chips on the beige camouflage. It really pops out!

Encore une fois, j'essaie autant que possible de ne pas être symétrique dans l'application des éraillures. J'ai aussi tenté un début de peinture sur les zones endommagées. Ce travail devra être affiné !

Once again, I try not to be symmetrical with chipping as much as possible. I've also started painting the damaged areas. They'll have to be worked again!

Jagdpanzer IV - Camouflage (Part 3)

Alors, aujourd'hui, j'ai commencé le camouflage du Jagdpanzer. Originalement prévu pour la version V, j'ai quand même choisi de recréer le badigeon blanc de 1945 trouvé dans le livre des profils 1945 German Colours édité chez AK-Interactive. Pour cela j'ai utilisé une des peintures aérographe du set 1945 German Late War Colors de la même marque. Je suis assez satisfait de la peinture, même si elle aurait pu être un peu plus fine, mais vu que le but est de créer un badigeon, et que sur le terrain on utilisait ce qu'on avait sous la main en guise de pinceau, cela ne demandait pas beaucoup de soin.

So, today, I started the Jagdpanzer camouflage. Originally intended for version V, I've nonetheless decided to paint the white-wash of 1945 foudn in the pofile book 1945 German Colors published by AK-Interactive. For that I used one of the airbrush paints of the 1945 German Late War Colors from the same brand. I'm quite satisfied with the paint, even if it could have been finer, but since the goal was to paint a white-wash, and that on the field they used what they had on hand as a brush, it didn't really need that much care.

Voilà ! Le tout me semble assez logique, j'ai quand même hésité à peindre les surfaces horizontales, puis me suis ravisé, pensant que l'effet obtenu me semble plus contrasté !

Here it is! The whole seems quite logical, but I hesitated painting the horizontal surfaces, then thought back, feeling that the effect seems more contrasted the way it is!

Autre nouvelle, mon Aztek me casse les pieds, alors en suivant le conseil de Thierry Tish, j'ai décidé de me commander un aérographe Harder & Steenbeck Infinity Two in One. Le métal, y a que ça de vrai ! Il ne reste plus qu'à l'attendre ! Merci Thierry !

Other news, my Aztek is giving me too much pain, so following Thierry Tish advice, I decided to order a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity Two in One. Metal is the only true thing! I just have to wait now! Thanks Thierry!

Jagdpanzer IV L/48 - Red Modulation (Part 2)

Satané Aztek ! C'est la fin de son monde, pourtant, il n'était pas Maya ! Pas vieux, mais déjà fichu ! Rien à faire ! Démonté, remonté, quand un problème est réglé, un autre apparaît ! Quelle poisse ! Il commence à fuir par dessous en faisant des grosses bulles qui éclatent, devinez-où, sur le modèle que je peins !

Damned Aztek ! It was the end of its world, still, it wasn't a Maya! Not old, already knocked out! Nothing to do! Unmounted, mounted again, when problem is solved, another comes by! What a mess! It's starting to leak from the bottom, making big bubble that blow, guess where, on the model I'm painting!

Bon, j'ai quand même réussi à faire la modulation de mon Jagdpanzer au 1/72. J'ai commencé par faire une modulation à l'apprêt Vallejo. Je commence à comprendre le fonctionnement de ce produit. La pression doit être assez basse (entre 0.5 et 1 bar) au risque de voir l'apprêt sécher avant même d'atteindre le modèle et lui donner un aspect granuleux. Puis, j'ai aussi réussi à le diluer à 50% avec de l'eau. Il faut y aller doucement par contre et ne pas rester longtemps sur une même zone, sinon il aura tendance à couler. L'avantage est que le tout sèche très vite.

Well, I've managed to make the modulation on my 1:72 Jagdpanzer. I've started by the Vallejo primer modulation. I'm starting to get used to the product. The pressure must be quite low (between 0.5 and 1 bar) otherwise it might dry before reaching the model and give it a granulous aspect. Then, I've also managed to dilute up to 50% with tap water. You've got to get slow and not stay too long on the same area, otherwise it might start to flow down the surface. The advantage is that it still dries quite quickly.

Ensuite, j'ai peint l'apprêt marron rouge de la même marque. Assez dilué. En dernier lieu, j'ai passé un léger voile de rouge du set German Late War Colors de AK-Interactive, afin de donner un aspect moins terne au marron rouge.

Then, I airbrushed the same brand brown red primer. Quite diluted. Finally, I applied a thin layer of red using the German Late War Colors set from AK-Interactive, in order to give a less plain aspect to the brown red.

Jagdpanzer IV L/48 Early Production - Dragon 1:72

Bonjour à tous ! Nous sommes toujours en vie, je vais donc pouvoir continuer à m'éclater !

Hi everyone! We're still alive, so I'll be able to go on having fun!

M'étant fait la main sur mon SU-85, je me suis dit que je pouvais passer à l'étape supérieure en montant ce Jagdpanzer IV L/48 Early Production de Dragon au 1/72ème.

Having made enough with my SU-85, I told myself that I could move on to the next level with this Jagdpanzer IV L/48 Early Production by Dragon in 1:72.

Malgré le fait que ce kit a 6 ans, je trouve que la qualité du plastique est excellente, le moulage est parfait, il n'y aucune carotte d'injection désagréable et la notice est claire. Bref, j'ai pris un après-midi à le monter en réfléchissant bien à chaque étape, avec du café et une balade entre temps !

Despite the fact that this kit is 6 years old, I think that the quality of the plastic is excellent, the molds are perfect and there is no bothering injection molds. Moreover the instructions are really clear. Well, it took me an afternoon to build it thinking well about each step, with coffee and a walk!

Les photos arrivent. Elles sont un peu brillantes : normal, je venais de les passer sous l'eau savonneuse !
